Adding A Consistent Look To An Established Email

The Challenge: Monthly product alerts delivered with humor by a working chef have made Paddy’s Market Watch one of Santa Monica Seafood’s primary customer publications, with an engaged customer list and long history as a printed flyer. After emailing versions of the flyers for years using legacy tools, the client needed a more flexible email marketing system.

The Solution: Evolution Design created a simple email design including a simple masthead with a bold masculine font and wood-grain texture. A simple and clean two-column layout was selected. A second email template was created to support more generic communications. We helped select an email provider, set up the campaigns and lists, trained internal staff, and provided analytics analysis and recommendations on raising email open rates.

Page Enhancements and Visual Content Creation

The Challenge: We had assisted in the creation of Santa Monica Seafood’s initial Facebook page, and with Facebook’s new timeline format the page was not displaying optimally.

The Solution: Evolution Design created custom tab buttons and an image for the Facebook Cover, to be swapped out monthly to highlight events and seasonal products. To boost page engagement we added branded visual content. We assisted with developing a social media strategy, employee guidelines, implementing new tools and approval systems, and team training for marketing and operations staff.

User Interface Design with a Focus on Sustainability

The Challenge: Evolution Design designed and developed a website for Santa Monica Seafood several years ago. One of the key features was an animated “flipping book” feature for their product catalog and other top-level content. More recently the company created a detailed Powerpoint presentation showcasing their most popular products. This new printable guide offered much more detailed information than the website did, so we immediately added links to the PDF files to the site so that customers could start accessing the information right away. We then started design and development of a custom online product guide to display the added product details in a more web-friendly way than PDF files can offer.

The Solution: A custom user interface design was created, aimed at showcasing the client’s detailed product information, sustainability education, and links to similar products. On each product page, harvest and sustainability information is shown at top, with product tips for restaurant managers and servers provided in a separate column. Once the design and content structure was approved, Evolution Design developed a custom front end and back end solution, integrated with the existing Drupal website design.

Helping A Top Distributor Get Started With Facebook

The Challenge: After selecting Evolution Design to help design and launch their new corporate website, a blog and a Twitter presence, leading seafood distributor Santa Monica Seafood was ready to accelerate their social media with the addition of a Facebook page for their foodservice division.

The Solution: We designed and created the page, designed a custom landing page graphic and added the tab using FBML. We suggested a variety of website content for the client to post, as well as assisting with strategy for post timing, style and frequency.

Designer iPad Fashion Infographic for Content Marketing

The Challenge: To create awareness and support advertising leading up to the launch of the iPad, a popular Apple Products fan website needed infographics to add visual impact to their blog and replace generic screenshots.

The Solution: Evolution Design illustrated a few simple character poses using silhoettes and illustrated iPads.

A Popular Seafood Café Looks To Engage on Facebook

The Challenge: In the year since launching the Santa Monica Seafood corporate website, study of Google Analytic data clearly showed that retail pages to be consistently the most visited. With a foodservice Facebook page already established, the client was ready to engage with their local customers with a customized Facebook page for their two retail stores.

The Solution: We designed and created the page, with custom landing tabs for new visitors and also for the restaurant menus. We provide ongoing social media management for the page in support and conjunction with their staff.

Helping An Established Distributor Get Started with Social Media

The Challenge: After providing seafood to the region’s top restaurants for seven decades, seafood processor and distributor Santa Monica Seafood was ready to get started with social media. As their website developer Evolution Design was well positioned to assist with online marketing and social media. After listening carefully to the client’s long-term marketing goals, we suggested several social media platforms be established within the first year, starting with Twitter.

The Solution: Evolution Design came up with username options, designed a Twitter background and made the account colors consistent with the client’s web design and branding. We wrote a number of tweets and created custom imagery to coordinate with company and industry events. We provided consulting, analytics analysis, and team training. Once the company blog was live we added /blog to the profile’s website link to encourage subscriptions.
