Launching New Delivery Services for a Growing Restaurant Chain

The Challenge: With the launch of delivery and catering services as well as the opening of their fourth location, KASI Restaurants needed branded vehicle graphics to provide a rolling billboard when they delivered customer’s meals.

The Solution: We designed digital graphics for all sides of the delivery van. After presenting numerous layout options the client selected a partial wrap approach, to take advantage of the bright white color of the vehicle as well as reduce graphic installation costs. After careful measurement and production of the final art files the installation went smoothly.

Menu Board Design for Indian Food Restaurant

The Challenge: After opening three restaurant locations in San Diego County, KASI Indian Restaurants was ready to upgrade their initial menu board designs and other interior elements. With a growing library of new food photography, increasing readability and adding images to the menu board were top priorities.

The Solution: The menu board was designed to maximize the available wall space, with bold price boxes and colorful menu images. A vegetarian icon highlights the many healthful dishes. A separate poster at bottom right showcases new menu items and periodic specials.

Second Site for San Diego Fiduciary

The Challenge: Our first site for Foster Thornton LLC was created in 2006 and the client had received a number of positive comments on the appearance and professionalism. Much of this was due to the outstanding consulting and writing services provided by Leah Swearingen, a San Diego PR pro. We particularly like one client story where the client was recommended by a lawyer along with several other fiduciaries… “The client looked at my website and decided she doesn’t want to even meet with anyone else.” Positive comments are great but also caused the team to want to figure out what elements of the old site design should be carried over to the new site. Screen sizes had changed a lot since 2006, so the site would need to look very different than the old one.

The Solution: Evolution Design provided a custom themed WordPress website and blog. Shades of beige, gold and brown were used, along with soothing stock imagery, to give visitors a sense of calm during the process of selecting a fiduciary. The logo, identity and brochure design that we had previously designed for the client was working well for them, so the new website design featured the logo prominently, along with a solid box of the mustard yellow logo color below.

A Complete Marketing Toolkit for a Nutritional Products Manufacturer

The Challenge: After completing the formulation and manufacturing of their line of nutritional supplement products, DC Nutraceuticals needed a range of marketing materials to support their e-commerce and traditional sales programs.

The Solution: Once we completed a through needs assessment and research, Evolution Design provided assistance with naming, logo & corporate identity design, website design, writing of website and printed content, product packaging, and design of printed collateral including presentation folder, consumer brochure, and distributor sales sheets.

A Custom Website Design For A Destination Winery

The Challenge: While working with a wine maker with a brand new facility under construction, Washington State web hosting company Ovaleye Cloud Services was tasked with developing a high-impact website as well as label designs for a growing collection of wines.

The Solution: Evolution Design provided static website design for the Castillo De Feliciana website, based on a Spanish theme. The site design features a dark background using earth tones, natural textures, and a “Winery Updates” blog section to update customers on events and new products. Optimized slices were provided to Ovaleye to help show the design intent. Occasionally certain design elements need to be altered to fit the realities of the web. But Ovaleye’s finished code for the site was perfect, and everything looked exactly how we hoped it would. They developed a custom content management system (CMS) to allow the client to add and edit content. Additional assignments for this client included a logo design, design of a series of wine labels, and artwork for social media profiles.

Helping Launch A Rotational-Menu Awareness Campaign

The Challenge: To add excitement to a their fixed-menu meal offerings, Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes Restaurants wanted to start rotating in groups of new seasonal menu items. To build awareness of these new menu items we created custom in-store displays and matching magazine ads. We had a budget for a custom photo shoot but since the creative would be used over and over to promote future new dishes we could not shoot the actual new menu items.

The Solution: The creative a concept positioned the kitchen staff as creative chefs, and was designed to be able to temporarily replace existing ad series, which we had created the previous year.  The design of these 3-foot triangular hanging posters involved several components. They were printed four-color process, laminated to chipboard and die cut. The printer also provided boxes, bubble-wrap hand-packaging and shipment of posters to the individual restaurant locations, which helped preserve the pointed corners of the displays. String, i-beam brackets and hanging instructions were also provided.

Evolution Design also designed and produced clear triangular static cling labels which were placed on the spit-guard, above the serving dish of each new menu item. To support each new menu roll-out, we used the same photo and headline in the design of a national consumer print advertising campaign.

Logo Design & Business Card Design for San Diego Realtor

The Challenge: Looking for a fresh look, New Nest Homes needed an identity, brochure design and website design. In an increasingly competitive residential real estate environment, the client wanted something distinctive and unique to help communicate her experience and personalized approach.

The Solution: We created a simple, friendly logo design and hand-illustrated birds and branches to complete the identity. We created artwork for business cards, stationary, envelopes and announcements. The client selected a high quality local printing vendor and all the pieces turned out great. Additional assignments for this client included a colorful tri-fold brochure design and some spot graphics for her website template.

Working In Conjunction With A Web Hosting Company

The Challenge: We have completed a number of website design projects for Ovaleye Cloud Services, a Washington State web hosting company. When their client Metrazzo Specialty Surfaces needed a custom web design, they turned again to Evolution Design to provide a high-impact website.

The Solution: Working for a website hosting and development company like Ovaleye is very different than with our client-direct projects. The Ovaleye team works with their client directly, and they create the code and add the content. This makes our job of designing the front end easy by comparison. We usually get a chance to speak to their clients directly one or more times during the design and development process, which helps make sure we are designing to fit the end clients vision. The client provided some excellent photos of his copper-themed product line, and we sourced stock imagery to provide variety. Additional assignments for this client included a logo design, business card design, and label design.

Branding Package Promoting Nature-Based Services

The Challenge: With a growing market for coaching services, the Motherhood Project works with mothers at all stages of life with innovative programs and services to help them develop critical life skills.

The Solution: A nature theme in the form of a tree supported the client’s business focus of using personalized natural approaches to childbirth, consulting and child/parent development. A soothing green and medium blue color scheme, with brown accents, was selected. In addition to logo design services, Evolution Design also designed a two-sided business card layout, website design and postcard mailer to help launch the business.

Promoting Technology Solutions for The Hispanic Community

The Challenge: In an effort to provide home financing for underserved sectors, and with funding from major global financial institutions, HNMA Funding Company needed a range of marketing materials to support their public outreach, education and funding programs. We had just completed a logo design and brochure design for HNMA Funding Company, and to accompany it a promotional flyer for the company’s new software tool Haus was needed.

The Solution: For Haus, Evolution Design created a logo symbolizing innovative data collection technology, as well as a single-sided flyer to introduce the new product to institutional users. Once the English language piece was approved, we used translated text supplied by the client to create a Spanish version.
